PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR MARTIN FOTTA Martin’s work aims to capture the place of Romanies alongside the myriad of other peoples and cultures that have shaped the South Atlantic world, examining how Romani identity has been structured by the history of contact within this world. Read more

SENIOR RESEARCHER TINA MAGAZZINI Tina's work explores the ways in which Romanies (Ciganos) in Portugal are racialised in relation to other minorities and the alliances these communities forge. Read more

RESEARCHER KAROLINA VÁLOVÁ Karolina’s research specializes in the literary analysis of prose by Lusophone authors. In their works, she tries to find points that illustrate the search for and discovery of national identity. Within the Romani Atlantic project, Karolina will be focused on the analysis of two novels. PROJECT MANAGER MÁRIA MÁLKOVÁ Mária will assist the team with the grant guidelines and rules, maintaining the schedule and all project documentation. Read more
