Presentations 20. 11. 2024 Conference A NOVÍSSIMA FICÇÃO PORTUGUESA (Colóquio Internacional em homenagem a Teresa Veiga) in Lisbon Karolina Válová presented a literary theme associated with the Romani Atlantic project: "Pretending to Be a Roma Girl in the Novel Myra by Maria Velho da Costa," at a conference in Lisbon.

Presentations 22. 10. 2024 Romani Penal Convicts within the 18th Century Lusophone World On 11 October 2024, Martin Fotta discussed how the convict transport system in early modern Portugal targeted Romani people through racialized legislation, leading to their forced labour, permanent exile, and displacement to colonies like Angola as part of a broader colonial strategy to marginalize and erase their community.

Presentations 25. 6. 2024 Race, Nation and Lusophone Gypsylorism At the 2024 Prague Forum for Romani Histories conference, Martin argued that 19th-century scholarship's view of Romani people was influenced by colonial and race dynamics.

Publications 18. 6. 2024 Romanies within the interlocking matrix of racialization: How Ciganos in Brazil became accused of introducing an infectious disease In his recent article, Martin Fotta argues that the Romani racial project cannot be isolated from other projects and Romani racialization does not occur separately from other communities.
